Our hearts are with the Teets family as they lost their sweet Katie Teets Bradshaw yesterday morning at 5:55am. On December 23rd, Katie was diagnosed with metastatic, stage 4 breast cancer. ONLY 5 months after finishing chemotherapy from her original diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer. She then had a tumor in her chest (muscle) and multiple on her liver. Katie Teets is the daughter of Greg and Julie Teets. She, was a 2011 graduate of Sherando High School. She played soccer all 4 years at Sherando, JV her freshman year and varsity her sophomore through senior years. She was team captain her senior year. She was a member of the National Honor Society her Junior and Senior years and every year through her Sherando career was a straight A student. Katie attended George Mason University right after high school and graduated from GMU in 2015 with her BSN. Katie also has 2 brothers that attended Sherando High School, Brandon Teets, a 2016 graduate and Michael Teets, a 2019 graduate. Katie was recently married to the love of her life, Stephen Bradshaw on May 30, 2021. In 2019, Katie was a guest at Arrowhead stadium as we welcomed her and her entire family onto the field to do the coin toss for our Breast Cancer Pink Out Game. It truly meant the world for her to do that as she always had a smile on her beautiful face and always wanted everyone to know that she wasn’t going to allow this THING to stop her from continuing her life. To know her, was to love her. To love her, was an honor… but to be loved BY her was the blessing above all. Julie Keplinger Teets and Greg Teets, please know your Warrior family is here and we are mourning along with you. Thank you for sharing your daughter with us, I for one will forever remember her contagious smile and laugh. Her ability to be strong for everyone even when she didn’t have to be. Our deepest condolences are being sent to the Teets family and all who knew Katie.
