Studying the feasibility of connecting the regions to a unified water transport network
The Council of Ministers approved assigning the Electricity and Cogeneration Regulatory Authority the task of regulating the entire chain of water and sanitation services, provided that this does not include wells.
He also approved changing the name of the Irrigation and Drainage Authority in Al-Ahsa to (the General Irrigation Corporation), and expanding its role to include providing irrigation and agricultural drainage services to all regions of the Kingdom. And for the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to study the feasibility of establishing a water transport network linking the different regions of the Kingdom, and to submit the results of that study to the Council of Ministers within a period not exceeding three months.
This came after reviewing what was submitted by the Minister of Economy and Planning, and the recommendation prepared in the Council of Economic and Development Affairs No. (3-52/38/d) dated 8/12/1438.
