RIP Luther Price. He was an extraordinary artist, and an incredibly generous one as well. He graciously provided the image that adorns the cover of my book, and I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to screen one of his remarkable films

RIP Luther Price. Carolee Schneemann once told me that watching his film Warm Broth was an indelible experience. That really is the apposite word when describing Luther’s movies—indelible. They stay with you, like a childhood memory, or a scar.

Luther Price made an indelible mark on Wavelengths with his genius, generosity, and epistolary friendship over the years. Forever grateful, and in awe of his work and spirit.

RIP Luther Price. Encountering Price’s 35mm glass slides in 2014 was one of those moments that shifted my aesthetic sensibility. I can’t tell you how many people ask about my desktop/website backgrounds—all Price. Sometimes still I just sit and marvel at his work. A major loss.

So heartbroken by the passing of Luther Price. What an amazing artist and person. I feel so lucky and grateful to have called him a friend. At a loss right now, so I’ll just share the last picture he sent me, via email, about a month ago, with the subject line “READY”

RIP Luther Price. Cuando almas con arte de verdad hacen que el estado de tu retina cambie para siempre. Gracias #lutherprice Gracias
