Tributes To Mark Gerhard
Below are some of the statements shared across social media users’ timelines on the death of Gerhard.
“On Friday, May 7, I received calls and texts saying something is not right with Mark Gerhard. He’s not answering his phone. I called two or three times finally got in touch with him. He was lost driving aimlessly around East Dayton…I asked are you near a gas station. He said yes. I told him I will meet you there DO NOT HANG UP THE PHONE UNTIL YOU SEE ME. Found him…took him to Kettering hospital. About 430 in the morning on May 8, 2 docs came in the room and said sir you have a mass in your brain which is pushing one half into the other. He was admitted around 6a. I went home around 7a and told my wife I don’t think Mark will go home again. Fast forward, Mark has glioblastoma a fatal brain tumor. It was so advanced there was basically nothing to be done, so he was transferred out of Kettering Hospital to the Carlyle house on Far Hills. I visited him yesterday. I would like to thank The Carlyle House, Hospice and Kettering hospital for their care and Mark’s family for placing me on the family list. For those of you that didn’t know Mark, take the person you respect the most then multiply by 2. Yes, he was that great and influenced countless lives. I will miss him”
