Matthew Peasly Death – Cause of Death : At least one person has died in a wrong-way accident on State Route 18 near Auburn. The officials identified the Lakewood man that died in the accident on Tuesday as Matthew Peasly, 39. It was gathered that the multi-vehicle accident happened around 4:50 p.m. near Southeast 304th Street.
According to report, a vehicle driven by Peasly was moving east in westbound lane of SR 18 when it crashed head-on with a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 54-year-old Bonney Lake man. Peasly’s vehicle continued moving wrong-way until it again crashed again with another vehicle driven by a 54-year-old Milton man. The wrong-way vehicle later came to rest in a ditch on the left shoulder.
The officials received a call from the Bonney Lake man for help and dispatched troopers to the scene. Peasly who was the only occupant of his vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Other victims of the accident got injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Authorities.
