Melissa Banda Death – According to authorities, a 37 year old woman who was reportedly missing after she was seen being forced into a vehicle by her husband, was found on late Friday evening, Hidalgo County Sheriff J.E. “Eddie” Guerra reported via social media.
The deceased identified as Melissa Banda was discovered lifeless at around 11:33 p.m, east of Fm 493 and mile 14 1/2 by the McAllen police and the FBI.
According to Guerra, The sheriff’s major crime unit is leading the case, and it is investigated as capital murder.
Following report released on Friday, McAllen police responded to a call to the 7100 block of North Seventh street at about 3:49 p.m on Thursday , in which they reported that husband, 40 year old Richard Ford forced Banda into an Suv.
On Friday At around 9:32 p.m, The vehicle was discovered near Beach Access 5 on South Padre Island. They found Ford at the scene and he was immediately arrested by Cameron County law enforcement authorities.
McAllen police reported that Ford has been detained on two warrant for violation of court order and harassment.
