The 14-year old Orioles and Ravens super-fan lost his battle with cancer yesterday.
Over the years he captured all of our hearts!Mo lost his eyesight to cancer at just nine months old and braved four more battles against the disease since then. Through it all, he never lost his fighting spirit and love for all things Orioles and Ravens. The players and teams loved him, too.
If you remember, the Ravens let him announce one of their draft picks in 2019. He became the first person ever to announce an NFL pick from braille.

14 year old Mo Gaba passed away after a long battle with cancer, but he is leaving behind his uplifting spirit and positivity, it’s clear he touched so many lives in his short time on this earth.
We’re saddened to hear that Hopkins Kid Mo passed away after his battle with cancer. Beloved by Ravens and Orioles players for his tenacity, sports knowledge and infamous laugh, Mo became a local celebrity — making history in March 2019 as the first person to announce an NFL draft pick that was read in Braille. Mo was fighting cancer for the fourth time at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, but those who knew him would say that he never let his illness hold him back.
“The only thing I can say is stay positive. Don’t be negative. Look on the bright side. Make sure to laugh a lot. When you laugh, others laugh too. And then everybody feels better.
Our hearts are very heavy today after learning of the passing of Mo Gaba. Mo, you lifted everyone up and made such a large impact in a short time for so many in this community. Rest easy young man. You will he missed. #MoStrong
