Stefan Mrgan Death : Authorities say a South Carolina gun store owner identified as Jon Whitley has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter after officials say he accidentally shot a worker to death following a failed prank attempt.
According to Moncks Corner Police Department, Whitley owner of Coastal Firearms was taken into custody Monday afternoon in connection to the accidental shooting death of Stefan Mrgan about a month ago inside the shop.
Responding officers located Mrgan inside the store’s lobby with a gunshot wound to his lower face on November 2nd, 2021. A police affidavit states Whitley placed a replica Glock BB gun among real firearms in the store with the intent of pranking Mrgan.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office says Whitley mistakenly picked up and fired a real gun at Mrgan instead.
