THE 15-year-old Oiva Hangula died instantly after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle on the B1 Road between Oshivele and Tsumeb.
Oshikoto Regional Police Commander, Commissioner Armas Shivute, said the incident occurred at around 13:10 on Monday and a case of culpable homicide was registered against the 60-year-old driver of the car.
“The elderly man was driving a Haval Station Wagon with a Tsumeb registration on the road when he struck the boy on his bicycle that was making a U-turn on the high way. The boy died instantly,” Shivute said.
We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
