A 36-year-old man was shot to death while sitting inside his parked vehicle in North Philadelphia.

The incident happened at approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of Lambert Street. Responding officers located trails of blood leading to a residence and followed the trail. An adult male victim was located suffering from fatal gunshot injuries. The Philadelphia resident was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigations determined the man was his Chrysler 300 vehicle when a suspect gunman arrived and opened fire at him, striking him multiple times to the head and upper torso. The man got out of his vehicle and made an attempt to run to his friend’s home, but collapsed halfway.

Police say more than teen bullet holes were seen on the windshield of the vehicle. Investigators are working to identify the suspect and a possible motive in the incident. InsideEko will update this story.
