The Philosophy Society and the Saudi Center for Philosophy and Ethics recently presented a project aimed at consolidating philosophical writing in the Saudi cultural milieu, with the support of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority. The Commission supports the Philosophical Research Studies Grants project, which is concerned with philosophical research interest in the Kingdom in order to encourage the development of research capabilities among those interested and support them in a field that did not exist in an academic way to open new horizons that express passion, wisdom and love.

The grant mechanism relies on selecting a group of advanced researchers, who meet the criteria for admission to the project, by announcing the names of the grant-winning researchers on the social networking sites and websites of the project partners. Through it, they are followed up and supported under the supervision of a specialized scientific committee approved by the Commission, in order to evaluate and develop research in the final form that helps to publish it in refereed and local scientific journals, by building international relations and partnerships with relevant parties, and the project will be concluded with a closing ceremony in honor of For researchers and the scientific committee, and the research study will also be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals or local or foreign philosophical journals.

Scientific and financial support for the production of serious research

The President of the Philosophy Society, Dr. Abdullah Al-Mutairi, believes that written projects would present the cultural and philosophical community with important philosophical topics, and reveal to us interested researchers who have the ability to write philosophically according to its terms and literature. During lectures, seminars, conferences and research, pointing out that philosophy in Saudi Arabia did not emerge from the university and academies, but rather came from personal interests and group projects that indicate a real interest in philosophy. While the assistant professor at Taibah University, the supervisor of the Saudi Center for Philosophy and Ethics, Dr. Hassan Al-Sharif, indicates that the project is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, as the initiative provides an important opportunity for researchers, by obtaining scientific and material support to produce serious philosophical research.

A discovery for researchers and those interested

A member of the Philosophy Society, Salem Al-Thunayan, saw that the project is of great importance, as it focuses on qualitative research and important issues. It also reveals to us the important diversity among researchers whose philosophical interests differ, but in the end they serve philosophical research. The Philosophical Grants Project aims to raise the efficiency of philosophical research, writing and publishing in Saudi society, by providing grants aimed at providing material, scientific and institutional support to those with interest and competence to write and publish advanced philosophical research, and this project focuses on some philosophical issues and topics, such as: research on basic philosophical issues Such as investigations of existence, logic, knowledge, ethics, and the history of philosophical thought, which contribute to the development of critical and cognitive thinking, and research in contemporary issues related to scientific and technological developments such as issues of artificial intelligence, social communication, and genetic research, and research in social issues from a philosophical perspective, and this includes issues of human relations and the relationship with Environment and animals, as well as issues of contemporary challenges to human experience such as issues of isolation, loneliness, and issues of personal identity.
