Rest In Peace, Rachel Caine 💔
Fourteen year old Becca found Rachel’s books and they helped me discover this community. The Morganville Vampire series was the book review that kickstarted my blog. I’ll never forget her words, our few chats we had and know her legacy lives on

The first time I met @rachelcaine, I was a debut author. I’d been around bestselling authors who made me feel like a nobody. Rachel was the opposite. She was kind and generous and never—not for an iota—condescending in any way. Just a genuinely amazing human being.

Rest in peace & power @rachelcaine 💜
The loss hits harder after discovering your work only in Aug but I’m glad I got to chat with you about how much it meant to me. I’m glad you’re not suffering anymore – you and your words will always hold a special place in my heart.

Rachel Caine’s Morganville Vampires series was one of the series that made me fall so in love with YA. It was a big part of my never-ending vampire phase.
I’m keeping her family and loved ones in my thoughts and sending them all so much love. Rest In Peace, Roxanne.

So many beautiful souls have left us this year, it really hurts to have @rachelcaine be among them. I didn’t know her well, but she was such a light and a damn good writer. Sending love to all who will miss her.

I’ve been dreading this news. @rachelcaine was one of the sweetest people I ever met. She was so loving and accepting to me when I felt out of place at cons. Just… cancer fucking sucks, y’all.

So @rachelcaine was an amazing author but also a truly good person.
I had the honour of meeting her at a book signing as a teen. I had taken one book for myself and one for a friend. Turns out she mixed the names up and signed my friend’s name in mine!

Weather Wardens reignited my love of reading during my darkest days. Your words spoke to me and slowly pulled me back into living, book by book. I will never forget you for that and your many other stories I discovered along the way. My condolences to your loved ones.

PRINCE OF SHADOWS is “the” Rachel Caine book for me. It introduced me to her work. It fixed Shakespeare. And it changed me. It still takes my breath away years later. Her skill and her talent were second only to her strength and her heart. She will be missed.
