Terry Symansky death -What happened to Robert Hoagland, the man missing from Newton who assumed the identity of a dead man.

Robert Hoagland was 50-year-old at the time he went mising. He was reportedly seen last in Newton, CT on July 28th, 2013, and has not been seen or heard from since then. He was born in 1963 and was a local chef and property appraiser before his mysterious disappearance.

Information gathered states that Robert was found in 2016 which is 3 years after his disappearance. He was located in Florida and was said to have taken a new identity as Terry Symansky who was a deceased man. The real Terry Symansky had died in a tragic accident in 1991.

Report says Hoagland moved to Florida and assumed the identity of the deceased man after renting an apartment and gaining the trust of his grieving father, Edward Symansky. Roberts proceeded to steal Terry’s identity and began a new life, including becoming a landlord himself, marrying again in 1995, and having a son with his new wife.

Roberts was found out when a relative of the deceased found some transactions in his name and reported the case to authorities who began an investigation and found Roberts out.

He was charged to court and he reportedly pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and served two years in prison. The report said a judge Hamilton County Indiana, ruled that he owed $1.86 million to his first wife and son for previously unpaid child support.
