Roberto Marchesini Death – Obituary | Dead – Passed Away
Roberto Marchesini Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Roberto Marchesini.
I am very sad to learn of the passing of the legendary Roberto Marchesini.
I first met Roberto in ‘96 at Mugello GP. I showed him the first DYMAG carbon wheel which he loved. He wanted to work with us to develop the product. I politely declined – a big mistake at the time because he did help get carbon banned by the FIM later that season just as Carl Fogerty was about to go testing them on the works Honda at Phillip Island!
More recently I spent several days with him in Trieste and Bologna – and he was clearly not well. But he still enjoyed reminiscing over a couple bottles of red vino at dinner when he admitted what I had heard back in the day! He was a true character!
He remains a true icon of elite motorcycle racing with his passion and love for the sport and magnesium wheels undimmed to the end.
Thank you Roberto…
Chris

ROBERTO MARCHESINI has left us!
Undisputed genius of the motorcycle circle, the only one able in decades of activity to reinvent the wheel tens and dozens of times. All the most famous wheel brands have endorsed their experience with consultancy and integral projects.
Incredible technician but also creative, designer, passionate. He has worked with the best and the craziest realities and practically all the sacred motorcycling monsters have run and won with his wheels, from the time he designed the multi-winer Campagnolo 5 races in Magnesium up to the beautiful 6 MFR 6 races Used by Valentino Rossi on official Yamaha.
Among my favorite rims are the famous and iconic star rims for Massimo Tamburini and Bimota and many other masterpieces.
Have a nice trip Mr. Rotate
May the earth be light to her.

Farewell to Roberto Marchesini, the genius of the wheel: His last name became synonymous with “wheels”. The greatest honor imaginable for those who, like him, have elevated a profession to an art. A true gentleman, ironic until the very end.
