Ron Larrieu, the first American under 28:00 in six miles, has passed away. He was an Olympian at the Tokyo 1964 Olympics where he ran the 10,000m at 30:42. He was 2 times national cross champion between 1965 and 1966. He was the older brother of 5-time USA Olympian Francie Larrieu.
