Saudi Arabia continues its march in combating terrorism in all its forms and methods, through four specialized centers it has established to combat terrorism and extremist ideology and correct misconceptions. Yesterday, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and US President Donald Trump hosted the Etidal Center, in addition to its establishment of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Center.

This comes as a clear evidence for all international and regional media outlets that are trying to consolidate the idea of a major Saudi role in the terrorism industry, in thought and sponsorship. It is formed from the depth and strength of the Islamic and Arab worlds, in addition to its global weight, so the Kingdom was affected by the “politicized” terrorist acts, which claimed the lives of a number of innocent martyrs and injured many because of them, and the terrorist act began targeting Saudi Arabia since 1979, after the Iranian revolution until this day, and groups stand behind And terrorist organizations with different names, supported by parties and countries, aim at the security and stability of the Kingdom.

Thwarting terrorist operations:

The Saudi leadership, with the strength of the security sectors, was able to confront terrorist plans and thwart many terrorist operations targeting a number of vital sites, including oil and economic facilities, security headquarters, Saudi and foreign officials, and security men. Saudi Arabia had predicted the threat of terrorism and the need to confront it on the security and intellectual level, and to correct the misconceptions that misguided thought sought to sow and deceive a number of young people with their terrorist activities. In 2006, these committees turned into a new phase by establishing the Muhammad bin Nayef Center for Counseling and Care in a more sophisticated and professional manner in work, based on a vision to be a global model for achieving intellectual security, based on the moderation of Islam and the promotion of the spirit of national belonging.

Central reinforcement:

The center aims to achieve the message of intellectual security, leading to a society that applies moderation and moderation in thought and behavior, and to contribute to efforts to prevent deviant ideas and reform groups that have fallen into their clutches through specialized scientific and practical programmes. Extremism and deviant ideas, and achieving intellectual, psychological and social balance among the targeted groups to highlight the Kingdom’s role in combating terrorism, confronting deviant and deviant ideas, and sponsoring the reform of its children. The Muhammad bin Nayef Center for Counseling and Care operates according to a strategy that focuses on three main stages: prevention, rehabilitation and care. It has two centers in Riyadh and Jeddah, and work is underway to establish three new sites.

International Center for Control:

In 2005, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz called on the international community to establish an international center to combat terrorism when the Kingdom hosted the first international conference on combating terrorism in Riyadh. Terrorism is to be based in the United Nations Secretariat, and called on member states to cooperate with the center, and in April 2012 the center began operating, and among its objectives is the implementation of the pillars of the United Nations global counter-terrorism strategy in a comprehensive and integrated manner, by developing plans to be implemented at the national and regional levels for the counter-terrorism strategy It implements initiatives aimed at strengthening international cooperation in combating terrorism, and enhancing cooperation between counter-terrorism centers at the national, regional and international levels. Saudi Arabia surpassed all countries in the world in its support for the fight against terrorism, by supporting the United Nations Center for Combating Terrorism with $110 million, surpassing 18 countries, including the United States of America, which occupies the second position of supporters with $4.970 million. The Advisory Board of the United Nations Center for Counter-Terrorism is chaired by the Kingdom's permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Mouallimi.

Intellectual War Center:

And in continuation of confronting extremist ideology internally and externally, the Saudi Ministry of Defense launched, at the beginning of this month, the “Intellectual War Center.” Its board of trustees is chaired by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. And Al-Arabiya aims to expose errors, allegations, suspicions, and methods of deception promoted by extremism and terrorism, and to clarify the correct legal approach in issues of extremism and terrorism, and to present intellectual initiatives to many parties inside and outside the Kingdom, in addition to intellectual initiatives for the Islamic Military Alliance to Combat Terrorism, and among the goals also is to present values and principles The right religion with a discourse that takes into account the disparity of concepts, cultures and civilizations in line with its modern context, and to benefit from studies and research through the establishment of scientific and intellectual platforms, global forums, research chairs, survey and analysis tools, in addition to spreading through the media and communication with the establishment of global partnerships, and the organization of conferences, seminars and panel discussions, especially With centers of influence and foresight in order to achieve a positive expansion and spread, and launch public campaigns to direct public opinion to involve societies to enhance the dominance of the moderate vision.

Specialized experts from inside and outside the Kingdom work in the "Intellectual War Center" by virtue of the universality of the center's goals, and that it is diverse in content and discourse to include all groups covered by its messages. To combat the extremist ideology that terrorism adopts as a base to mislead its targets from all countries of the world, and it was able to attract a number of deceived people from more than a hundred countries, including people who were born, raised and educated in non-Islamic countries, affected by the messages of terrorist extremism that continue to be transmitted electronically with the aim of stirring up religious passion.

As for the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology “Etidal”, which was inaugurated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and US President Donald Trump yesterday (Sunday), it comes within the framework of Saudi Arabia’s efforts and support for programs to confront terrorism and extremist ideology internally and externally. The center employs 350 young men and women from the Kingdom. Selection of representatives for the Center’s Board of Directors from 12 members from different countries and organizations, and Dr. Nasser Al-Bogami assumes the position of Secretary-General of the Center. The vision of the Etidal Center is to be the first reference in the world in combating extremist ideology and promoting a culture of moderation. The Etidal Center seeks to achieve four goals: prevention, partnership, awareness, and confrontation. It includes three strategic pillars (intellectual, digital, and media). The center has several elements that distinguish it: technical excellence in the intellectual aspect, simulation of all languages and dialects, and unprecedented accuracy in Classification and analysis amount to 80%, in addition to international cooperation according to a common vision. The Etidal Center has very high technical and software strength that covers seven continents in the electronic network.
