• I noticed that some kilograms increased in Ramadan despite fasting, and this was reflected in the appearance of the rumen in a remarkable way. I wonder: Why did I gain weight and the appearance of the rumen, and it was supposed to be the other way around?

•• Family and Community Medicine Consultant at Jeddah Health, Dr. Khaled Obaid Bawaked, answers, saying:
There is a main reason for your weight gain in Ramadan and the remarkable appearance of the rumen, which is that you did not practice any kind of sporting activity during Ramadan that burns your fats and calories, and the food that you eat for breakfast appears to be fatty and includes fats and oils such as fried foods and others. Until Suhoor, you did not witness any activity to burn fat, and therefore fat and calories accumulate because there is no outlet for them, and the problem increases more if the individual sleeps immediately after meals, and this in itself helps lethargy, laziness and weight gain, so the best thing I advise you to do is to subject yourself to a sports and nutritional program After Ramadan, under medical supervision, to get rid of the extra weight that shows the rumen and does not agree with your height.
