Rock Hard Ten was co-owned and bred by Madeleine Paulson, widow of Allen E. Paulson, the dark bay horse stood over 17 hands. According to Wikipedia, Rock Hard Ten was sired by Kris S., out of the Mr. Prospector mare Tersa.

Rock Hard Ten won the GII Swaps Stakes in July at Hollywood Park and in December he won the GI Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita Park. Rock Hard Ten ran in the Belmont. KRA revealed that Rock Hard Ten was moved to an equine hospital after being unable to stand in his paddock and died within 24 hours. Rock Hard Ten had sired 330 winners with his offspring earning more than $27 million in purse money before his death.

He was a Multiple grade 1 winner, who had been standing at Jeju Stud Farm in South Korea since 2013. Reports revealed that Rock Hard Ten sired 25 black-type stakes winners, including North American graded stakes winners Black Onyx (G3), Capital Plan (G2), Doubles Partner (G2), Krypton (G3), Lady Ten (G3), Nereid (G1), Quality Rocks (G3), Summersault (G3), The Mailet (G3), Tonito M. (G3), and Utopian (G3). All but Black Onyx and Tonito M. won on turf.
