Steven Smolensky Death : Officials are investigating a fatal shooting in Weirsdale Tuesday morning that left a 52-year-old man dead.
Responding officers located Steven Smolensky at about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday on SE 180th Street. Detectives determined the shooting stemmed from a possible verbal altercation with some unidentified person.
Smolensky was located suffering from critical gunshots injuries at the scene. He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding EMS. Officers said no suspect has been declared wanted hence everyone involved in the incident has been accounted for. This is no threat to the public, according to Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives with the Major Crimes department of the sheriff’s office is handling the investigations.
