60 young men, carrying 60 incense burners, fill their faces with joy, whenever they approach a person performing Umrah or a visitor to the Sacred House of God, they want to “perfume” him with “incense and perfume.” The “Perfume and Incense” unit in the Sacred Mosque contains the best scents that confirm the great care in perfuming the Sacred Mosque, its honorable sides, and the purified Kaaba, out of respect and reverence for the Sacred House of God, and concern for the affairs of the intended worshipers, pilgrims, and visitors, and to facilitate their performance of their worship and asceticism with comfort and reassurance, and to enjoy the fragrant scent of perfume.
And without being content with its work in perfumery, the unit in the Grand Mosque continues the campaign “With incense and perfume, we receive the beloved destination”, to fumigate the Grand Mosque around the clock in all locations in the Grand Mosque. The unit uses the finest types of aged oud, Sioufi, Kalimatan incense, and Morki Double Super incense, which are consumed daily to perfume the Sacred House of God and the Holy Kaaba in particular, and 20 tola for the Black Stone, Al-Mutazam, the Yemeni Corner, and Al-Toula at a rate of 12 grams. More than 10 employees work in the unit.
The “Fragrance and Incense” unit intensified its efforts during the holy month of Ramadan, so that the work is covered in all locations in the Grand Mosque, and the Grand Mosque is fumigated with more than 60 incense burners per day, with 60 kilos of oud provided by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
And the Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques announced last year that it had started fumigating the Sacred Mosque with more than 60 incense burners per day during the month of Ramadan, at a rate of 60 kilograms of luxurious incense per month, in addition to perfuming the black stone and committed 5 times with more than 5 kilograms of luxurious oud oil for the first time in history.
