Investigators with the Aurora Police Department are probing a shooting that left a 17-year-old teenager dead in a Southeast Neighbourhood of Aurora.

The incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of S. Addison Way. Officers responded on receiving a call stating that two persons has been shot in the residence. Arriving officers located a 17-year-old teen and a 36-year-old man, who is a former officer with Greenwood Village Police Department, suffering from multiple gunshot injuries. They were transported to an area hospital where the teenager was pronounced dead and the older male was listed in a critical condition.

Preliminary investigation predicts that an altercation between the older man, who is reportedly unemployed and a group of teens led to the gunfire. The argument then escalated to exchange of gunfire between the teens and the man.
