The Saudi artist and musician, Thamer Al-Tawfiq, compared the art presented by “YouTube” to chaos. Emphasizing the absence of the role of radio, the Culture and Arts Association, and the Ministry of Culture and Information in the low art presented by the country's youth in the virtual world.
He explained that the Ministry of Culture and Information should build a new structure with regard to art and young artists, and oblige radio and television and the Culture and Arts Association to form long-established artistic committees that license young artists. And to force the authorities responsible for events and channels to host licensed artists only.
Regarding some YouTube clips that have achieved success despite their failure and the lack of art requirements in them, Thamer says, young people want to watch the art presented by their generation, and when the Entertainment Authority presents veterans such as the artists Muhammad Abdo, Abdul Majeed and Rashid in all its concerts without grafting young artists, then there will be no artists in the arena, as some of them He retreats, while others leave for the Emirates to hunt opportunities, and some present themselves through the new media, and when this class of young artists disappears, amateurs appear on YouTube, presenting farces in the name of art, and we are not surprised that young people admire them and follow them because they are the same age. “I remember that a young man was presenting pranks and comedy on his channel, and suddenly he presented a song he composed, and it was successful despite the weakness of the idea, word and melody.”
Al-Tawfiq pointed out that those in charge of entertainment or tourism must give young people the opportunity to participate, and culture and arts associations must equip talented youth from all regions of the Kingdom and help them present art that is appropriate, as art is the mirror of nations and youth need attention and guidance.
