The people of Al-Ardiyat governorate are still suffering from a severe shortage of medical and nursing staff, and some necessary medical equipment in Thuriban General Hospital. As a result, some patients spend long hours on emergency department beds or waiting, while others are transferred to other hospitals to obtain CT scans or to be admitted.
Citizens Abdullah Muhammad, Majid Saud, and Abdulhadi Hassan said: “The poor capabilities that the hospital lacks forced many patients to go directly to other hospitals. This negatively affected all statistics and indicators of all hospital departments.
They added, “We lived on frequent appointments by operating the nursery department in the hospital, similar to other Al-Qunfudhah health hospitals. Due to the shortage in the nursing staff, however, those promises evaporated and went unheeded, in addition to the fact that the ophthalmology and optometry clinic has been closed for years. due to the absence of an ophthalmologist and an optometrist, and the physiotherapy department died in its infancy due to the transfer of specialists in this aspect, and as for the CT scan, despite the promises, it has not been fulfilled, despite the urgent need for it, unfortunately, and as for the hospitalization beds, it does not work at its full capacity; Due to the acute shortage of nursing staff.
And they stated by saying: “We call on officials in the Ministry of Health to stand on the ground to address the shortcomings, in order to ensure the provision of appropriate health services to the people of the governorate, specifically in the Thuriban Center, as we suffer most from the lack of medical and administrative services in the Thuriban General Hospital, which is the second health hospital in Al-Qunfudhah.” In terms of the date of establishment, it is also the furthest hospital from Al-Qunfudhah by about 200 kilometers, and it provides all the medical services needed by the residents of the governorate, whose number exceeds more than 90 thousand citizens, and the governorate and its residents are in very urgent need of this hospital, which serves the governorate and neighboring villages.
