THE KEY TO RAISING EARLY.- A GREAT TOOL TO DEVELOPING YOUR CAREER
Step 1
The most important key to early raising is to decide first that you need to raise early. This decision is crucial to the whole process, its the piece of the jig saw that will allow every other thing to fall in place. When you decide, you need to realize that the process of cutting your sleep is not a funny event, it is a challenge which at the end of you will be happier you did it.
Step 2
Choose a specific sleeping and waking time based on your work schedule or lifestyle. This is crucial as the body works in circles. A circle of 90 minutes of sleep stages i.e within a 90minutes period, your body goes through the various four stages of sleep and starts all over again in 90m.
Stages of Sleep
- Stage N1 (Transition to sleep) – This stage lasts about five minutes. Your eyes move slowly under the
eyelids, muscle activity slows down, you are slightly aware of your surrounding, and you are
easily awakened. - Stage N2 (Light sleep) – This is the first stage of true sleep, lasting from 10 to 25 minutes. Your eye
movement stops, heart rate slows, and body
temperature decreases, this can be seen as “Gear 1” of sleep. - Stage N3 (Deep sleep) – You’re difficult to awaken, and if you are awakened, you do not adjust
immediately and often feel confused or angry or disoriented for a while before you get your senses.
This is the deepest stage of sleep, while in this stage, your
brain waves are extremely slow. Blood flow is
directed away from your brain and towards your
muscles, restoring physical energy.
- Stage 4.
REM sleep (Dream sleep) – About 70 to 90 minutes after falling asleep, you enter REM sleep, this is where dreaming occurs. Your eyes move rapidly, your
breathing shallows, and your heart rate and blood
pressure increase. Also during this stage, your arm
and leg muscles and most your body muscles are paralyzed.
From the above we can see that it is better to wake up at the end of a circle than within the circle.
Cos if you wake within a circle, you will feel disorganized, or angry or hungry for more sleep. Lets assume you are a hardworking or serious minded person and need to wake up by 5am, if we calculate to check multiples of 90minutes to 5am, this will be
5:00 Am
3:30 Am
2:30 Am
12:30 Am
11.00 Pm
The best time for you to go to sleep so as to wake at the end of a circle is to sleep by 11:00 pm. The previous night.
This gives you complete 6hours of sleep daily. Most health professional differ on the average amount of time needed for sleep for proper mental, emotional and psychological wellbeing. Though most agree that 8-9 sleep for kids is good, this is not a problem to us here as kids basically do not have anything to do with “earning money or putting food on the table” so they can even sleep for 10hours daily. As for adults, some professional recommend 7 hours of sleep daily but in the real world this may be a formula for “no cash” and “hunger strike” if your schedule can permit 7hours then do it, but if your schedule permits 6 hours then do it, you can compensate by taking 1hour nap/seyester during the day, as 1 hour of sleep during the day equals 3 hours of sleep at night.
For me as for me, i have done maximum of 6 hours daily for over 15 years now and am healthy. sometimes i even do 4 or 5 and make up during the day.
If you have been sleeping for longer hours at night and necessity demands you cut down drastically on your sleep like when you get a new job that is demanding or a realization of the futility of too much sleeping downs on you, then you may have a lot of work to do in cutting your sleep but no matter how challenging it is, always stay strong.
Making the challenge easier.
If you have to cut your sleep hours drastically within a short period, try and start a deep breathing exercise as that will strengthen your body not to crash for if you reduce your sleep time drastically within a short period your body might react by getting sick or your immune system will be weakened. Any of the deep breathing exercises will do but in the absence of any you can do just normal deep diaphramic breathing.
This consists of simply inhaling slowly and exhaling slowly. That is if formally you inhaled to the count of 1, 2, 3, you can increase the count to 4 after a while you can increase it to 5.
One way of doing it is to count 1, 2, 3, 4 as you breathe in and count up to 4 as you breath out too. A rule here is not to stress your body, -do not over do it at once or jump from 3 to 6 or 7 counts at once, this will place a lot of stress on your body. Take it slowly, start by adding just 1 count to your nomal breath, do that for a minimum of 2 weeks and add another 1count continue just like that.
