THE ROLE OF A FATHER
When we say the role of a father, what comes to the mind of many is “providing for the family.”

No doubt fathers are in the position to do that but let me remind you, when we limit the role of a father to providing for the family then the family would not feel the effect of fatherhood and would see their fathers as someone that provide what keeps the family running.

In order to have a better home and raise responsible children the role of a father becomes more than what we think.

When a man is accorded with fatherhood his role goes beyond providing for the family to making sure his children are properly raised.

For a man to be called a father he must biologically or non biologically own children and as such his role would no longer be limited to providing for the family but has to ensure effective parenting.

Some researchers at the University of Oxford report that children who have involved fathers are less likely to get in trouble with the police as they get older.

Joe pellegrino a co-author of the book “THAT’S MY DAD” said in an interview that the high rate of terrorism can be traced down to uninvolved fatherhood. ‎

So I ask what kind of father are you or what kind of father would you become? Are you or would you be the too busy kind of father, the kind that lacks good communication, finds it difficult to listen, the kind of father that deals with laws instead of principles, the kind that picks on the wife on every little thing, are you that kind of father that your children find it difficult to approuch you or you are the kind of father that just provide for the family living the responsibility of raising your children to your wife alone?

Examine yourself ask your wife and children the kind of father you are to them, find out from them if you are playing your role as a father not as a man. it is necessary your family members appraise you.

Remember, for you to be called a good father your children would first be called good children outside. Am of the school of thought that says that no human is born good or bad what ever we become in life is as a result of what we learn. So then ask your self what do I teach my children?

Every father must strive to become a role model to their children that is the most important role for every well meaning father.
