The National Cybersecurity Indicative Center of the National Cybersecurity Authority issued a very high security warning regarding vulnerabilities in the WhatsApp application.
The center said that “WhatsApp” issued several updates to address a number of vulnerabilities in the following products:

• WhatsApp Business – Android
– Pre-version 2.22.16.12
• WhatsApp – iOS
– Pre-version 2.22.16.12
– Pre-version 2.22.15.9
• WhatsApp Business – iOS
– Pre-version 2.22.16.12
The center stated that the threats consist in enabling the attacker to exploit the vulnerabilities by executing malicious software remotely.
Regarding preventive measures, the center recommended updating the affected versions, as “WhatsApp” issued an explanation of these updates via the following link: https://www.whatsapp.com/security/advisories/2022, while the center noted ensuring that the affected versions are updated from the official stores. .
