The Saudi-American relationship goes beyond the stage of common interests between two countries to a deeper partnership, with a strategic dimension, that can be described in terms that go beyond the level of alliance and friendship to a single and common destiny between the two countries.
This is confirmed by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, when he sent a strong message to the enemies of the United States of America and Saudi Arabia, in the joint press conference with his counterpart, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir, by saying that the partnership with the Kingdom is thriving, and that the Riyadh Summit and its strategic alliances chart the new path in this solid relationship. He stressed that the basis of our common relationship is to protect the security of the two countries.
Tillerson said clearly, "The strong relationship with the Kingdom is a message to the common enemy, and the essence of expanding the relationship with the Kingdom is to ensure the protection of America, as America's security is strong when the Kingdom's security is strong and protected," stressing the solidity of the relationship with the Kingdom, and permanent cooperation to confront terrorism.
Washington’s realization of the importance of the alliance with Riyadh after it found in it an Islamic and Arab weight and the ability to influence the Arab and Islamic world. A common danger that threatens Riyadh and Washington alike.
