Tributes To Timothy Pontzer
Below are some of the statements shared across social media users’ timelines on the death of Pontzer.
“It’s with great sadness and disbelief that we inform our OCFC family that one of our most loyal, passionate, kind, and selfless supporters, Timothy Pontzer, tragically passed away this Friday.
Tim will forever be remembered for his massive heart, his compassion for simply anyone, and just being an absolute damn good person.
To his family, we mourn with you. He was taken too early and we will forever be grateful to you for bringing Tim into all of our lives.
Sometimes things just don’t make sense. These are one of those times.
Tim was an OCFC Trust Member and a devoted member of Elmwood Elite. He will forever be remembered.
The remainder of our 2021 season will be dedicated to the Pontzer family.
We love you, Tim. “
“Man, this really sucks. Just learned of the passing of fellow vintage ballist Timothy Pontzer. Canton shared the field with The Grangers on several occasions, and a handful of us got to know Tim pretty well. Always was a great guy to chat with, and he was one of those guys who would go out of his way at a tournament or event, just to stop by and say Hi. There’s no doubt he had a passion for this game and I’d chat with him about it in some form or another every few months, even in the offseason. He fit right in with the age range of the ‘Shuckers and he was one of those guys I was truly expecting to share the field with for the next 20 years. Condolences go out to his club and his family. We lost a great one way too soon.
RIP Timothy Pontzer”
“Sometimes life just doesn’t make sense.
My great friend, and our Vice President of Metro Detroit Golfers / Brand25 Media, Timothy Pontzer unfortunately passed away in a tragic car accident yesterday at age 27.
I’ve known Tim since college and he was one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. In fact we were just joking around the other night over a couple beverages about some funny memories back in 2013.
It’s beyond tough and we give our deepest condolences to his wonderful parents and younger brother, Noah Pontzer.
I’ve spoken with his family last night and this morning and we’re WITHOUT QUESTION going to honor him and rally the community together. His legacy will live forever.
Tim was the first full time employee we hired at Brand25 Media and Metro Detroit Golfers 8 months ago. He was our Vice President and incredibly involved with both companies… incredibly. But most importantly a great person and friend.
Just a fantastic human being who would give you the shirt off his back. Still very difficult to even comprehend.
Thank you for all the support, he loved family, friends and community more than anything.
I’ve never experienced something like this, we were literally on the phone yesterday as we were everyday in meetings, and then an hour later he’s gone forever.
The photo below was from the Hope Network golf outing we played on Monday, along with a few messages I’ll never forget.
He was most importantly a great friend and person. He will be deeply missed…
RIP Brother 🙏”
“The Rogues Base Ball Club is very saddened to learn that a fine Gentleman, Timothy Pontzer from the Rochester Grangers who we just played last weekend has unexpectedly passed away. We send our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and everyone with the Grangers. Please if you could, keep them all in your thoughts and prayers. Rest peacefully Tim”
“Completely heartbroken hearing about Timothy Pontzer. He was a genuinely special, one-of-a kind soul who I shared an unlikely friendship with and I already miss him.
See you again, my friend.”
“Super sad to hear about this. I knew Timothy Pontzer from our WXOU days. He was a huge sports guy but would still stop by my desk and talk music with me (he loved fun. and Explosions in the Sky). Always had a smile on his face and a joke to make. Twenty seven years old is too young to go.
Rest In Peace buddy.”
