“Okaz” learned that the Authority for Spending Efficiency and Government Projects has finally legalized the mechanism for filling fuel for government cars, through a framework agreement to provide fuel products in cooperation with 6 major companies in the field of petrol stations.

The framework agreement approved the provision of fuel products for government vehicles, which enables government agencies to supply their vehicles with fuel through the supplier stations of approved companies to provide fuel products (gasoline 91, gasoline 95, diesel), as the filling will be done by the government agency requesting the service, through a fuel balance (in riyals) on behalf of By buying credit for petrol or diesel.

The agreement will be presented through several solutions, for example: “chips to be installed (from the supplier) at the fuel tank opening in the vehicle, and the chip can only be used for the vehicle on which it is installed, a multi-use smart plastic card or a barcode sticker for fuel supply management,” and to ensure continuity of service provision. To cover urgent cases or cases of breakdown of smart solutions (if any), the authority launched a product that allows government agencies to request the provision of additional balance or coupons.

The agreement included the provision of fuel products with the contractors, through the electronic market for government procurement (Etimad Market), so that government agencies can issue purchase orders for products directly to the contractors based on product specifications and prices defined throughout the validity of the agreement.

The agreement aims to achieve 4 advantages represented in: “Achieving the best value for public money, raising the efficiency of government spending, improving the quality of products, standardizing the prices of products and services provided to the government agency, and saving the time spent in the purchasing process through automation and facilitation of procedures through the unified electronic market.”

The framework agreement contracts will be activated on the “Etimad” electronic market platform, as this service aims to facilitate the direct purchase process for government agencies, and the government entity can use the electronic market through the “Etimad” platform.
