Candidates past and present, from both sides of the aisle, have paid homage to Legislator Tom Muratore who passed away this afternoon. He was one of the good guys in government, and his contributions to the community will long outlive him.

Legislator Muratore was the definition of a true gentleman. He was a kind and caring soul that all loved.
He mentored many of the Suffolk YRs over the years, always giving us the best advice whenever we asked for it. We loved Volunteering for Legislator Muratore; and always looked forward to tabling at the Ronkonkoma Street Fair with him.
His service to Suffolk County and his constituents will be greatly missed. Please join us as and keep Legislator Muratore, his family, friends, staff and Republican family in your prayers during these tough times.
We are extremely sad to hear of the passing of a true advocate for the Farmingville community. Legislator Tom Muratore went above and beyond for Farmingville, always supporting our dreams and initiatives. The Farmingville community is truly better as a result of his advocacy and support. He will be greatly missed, and we are forever grateful for his partnership and friendship.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Suffolk County Legislature Tom Muratore. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Muratore family and friends. Tom was a true champion for the Farmingville community, always advocating for the people and local organizations.
In 2012, when we tried to launch our inaugural Farmingville Street Fair, we were denied. Tom stepped in after hearing of the opposition, and hours later we were granted permission. Over the last few years, thanks to Tom and his devoted staff, the Chamber received grants to continue holding events like the Street Fair and Farmingville Flicks Drive-In Movie Series this past summer.
Tom was not only a great advocate but also a beautiful person. He was truly the “best of the best” and will be missed.
When we were just thinking about putting a News Talk radio station on the air that served only Long Island, one of the first calls we made was to our friend Legislator Tom Muratore. As he always did, he gave us honest advise and truthful thoughts. He was our friend. He was a true public servant. I use to ask him why, after a long career as a police officer why he chose to remain in his position and he once told me, I enjoy my time in public service. It may well be one of the most interesting and challenging times of my life! Then we would have a cigar and he would give me one of his stamped PBA cards, ( he gave out so many that his name was just stamped on them!) I used mine many times! Be well my fiend you will be missed by many. We are not here merely to make a living. We are here to enrich the world.
We are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of one of Farmingville‘s biggest advocates. Legislator Tom Muratore worked tirelessly for our community, and went above and beyond to preserve its history. Thanks to him, we were able to continue preserving our historic Bald Hill School House. Additionally, he supported our Conquer the Hills events, and all initiatives of our Historical Society. His legacy will live on through all of the things that we have accomplished due to his unwavering support. We are forever grateful, and he will be deeply missed
