Authorities are investigating after two people were injured in a shooting in the early hours of Tuesday on the I-15 Freeway in Utah.
According to reports, the incident happened at about 3:15 a.m., at the intersection of Nephi and Scipio. Investigators say a vehicle was driving down and another vehicle opened fire striking two persons inside the second vehicle. Responding troopers say the unidentified victims were transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Preliminary investigations disclosed that the suspect was southbound on I-15 at the time of the shooting. It is not immediately clear the direction the alleged suspect fled to after the incident. No physical information was immediately given.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, troopers are looking into cameras at businesses along the freeway which might have information useful for investigations.
Authorities are asking everyone to remain alert in that area and report any suspicious activity. Those with information about the shooting or those who witnessed it are asked to call UHP dispatch at 801-887-3800.
