Daniel Nielsen -Alabama CL – Death : Daniel Nielsen, of Alabama, California, an alumnus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, who studied Electrical and Computer Engineering passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. His death was announced by Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on their official Facebook page on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. In the post, Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, expresses their profound sadness and sorrow, they also offer prayers and sympathy to the family and friends of Daniel. They also remembered him as a 2 years President of the University of Alabama Habitat Campus Chapter who was chosen for an Outstanding Senior Award by the UA National Alumni Association in 2019 and under his leadership, the UA Habitat Campus Chapter won much recognition for its campus engagement and community service.
Daniel is a native of Rockford, Illinois, he attended Auburn High School, and further went to the University of Alabama from 2015 to 2019 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. In 2020 Daniel also obtained a Master in Business Administration from the University of Alabama. He was elected the Treasurer for the University of Alabama Habitat for Humanity from Mar 2016 to Mar 20171 and was later elected as the President of University of Alabama Habitat for Humanity from Mar 2017 to May 2019. He was an active and a dedicated member of the University of Alabama Habitat for Humanity, during his time as the President, Daniel made so many achievements which led to him receiving an award of commitment to citizenship given to him by the University of Alabama Division of Student Life, he was also awarded as 2019 Alumni Outstanding Senior Award University of Alabama Alumni Association.
Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa, Alabama expresses their condolences which read “It is with profound sorrow that we offer our prayers and sympathy for the family and friends of Daniel Nielsen, who served as the University of Alabama Habitat Campus Chapter president for two years. Daniel was chosen for an Outstanding Senior Award by the UA National Alumni Association in 2019 and under his leadership, the UA Habitat Campus Chapter won much recognition for its campus engagement and community service. Most important of all, because of Daniel’s leadership, a family who was living in a house full of mold, which was structurally unsound, and had collapsing floors and roof, now lives in a new Habitat home. Through our tears, we know that Daniel has heard, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Master.” May God comfort all who grieve his passing.”
