Walter C. Hammond Death – Cause of Death : 54-year-old Walter C. Hammond of Bern Township has passed away following a solo-car accident that happened around 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 on Fairview Avenue.
According to officials, Hammond was driving a car southbound in the 1200 block of Fairview Avenue on Thursday evening when he lost control of his car as a result of wet road, existed the roadway and crashed into a tree close to his home. The impact caused the car to burst into flames leaving him with severe burnt injuries.
First responders arrived the scene of the crash and extricated him from the car. He was transported via ambulance to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He died of thermal burns, says Berks County Coroner.
