Today (Tuesday), the exhibition and conference "LEAP 2023" held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, witnessed the launch of the Saudi-Chinese Association for Entrepreneurship, which includes a group of major government institutions, companies, non-governmental organizations and academic institutions from both countries.

The association is a non-profit organization supported by the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones.

The Saudi-Chinese Association for Entrepreneurship includes more than 100 founding members from institutions and companies, and aims to support constructive participation between business leaders in Saudi Arabia and China, encourage cross-border investment, enrich innovation, and promote social responsibility and public welfare. The Association is expected to become a valuable platform for members to exchange ideas, collaborate and learn about best business practices.

On this occasion, the Director General of the Saudi-Chinese Association for Entrepreneurship, Jerry Lee, said that the vision on which the association is based is consistent with the Saudi Vision 2030, stressing that it will enable the wheels of investment and constructive cooperation to be advanced across borders.

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones, Faisal Al-Khamisi, affirmed that China is a “strategic partner” for Saudi Arabia in terms of technology and innovation, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by companies to contribute to the development of the digitization system in Saudi Arabia. He said, "We have worked with these companies over the past three years, and the launch of the Saudi-Chinese Association for Entrepreneurship today takes our cooperation to the next level and provides the Saudi-Chinese business community with a valuable forum for exchanging experiences."

The launch of the Saudi-Chinese Association for Entrepreneurship marks a milestone in the growing private sector involvement from China and Saudi Arabia in building relations between the two countries, especially after the official visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the country. The CEO of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, John Lee, participated in the launch ceremony of the association with a delegation of senior government officials and business executives from Hong Kong.

It is expected that the Saudi-Chinese Association for Entrepreneurship will play a pivotal role in continuing to advance progress and contribute to the digital transformation of both Saudi Arabia and China, while its establishment reflects the image of the increasing participation of the private sector between the two countries, and marks the start of a new and exciting chapter in bilateral relations.
