Dr. Louay Al-Salmi, a consultant in plastic and reconstructive surgery, revealed that the Kingdom is the first in the Arab world in terms of the demand for plastic surgery, as the demand for young people between the ages of 19 and 30 years, according to the statistics of the International Society of Plastic Surgery.
The plastic surgery consultant said that the latest statistics confirm that there were 95,000 plastic surgeries in Saudi Arabia during 2016, and this number is not high globally, but it is high in the Arab world. Women lead these operations by 70%, and 30% for men.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Aesthetic Medicine Forum, plastic and reconstructive surgery consultant Dr. Louay Al-Salmi will deliver a workshop on the concept of plastic surgery and its stages in the Middle East region, and explains the reasons that led to the increasing demand for plastic surgery in Saudi Arabia, and the precautions that must be followed in these operations.
It is noteworthy that the Aesthetic Medical Forum revealed that the size of the medical cosmetic market in the Kingdom amounted in 2016 to more than five billion Saudi riyals, according to studies and research issued by “Eurmonitor International” due to the volume of demand of both sexes and different ages to perform operations.
