From the principle of giving free of charge, and providing social aid to everyone in need, the country’s young men and women set out to work in all kinds of voluntary fields, carrying on their shoulders social responsibility as a goal, and working to help everyone who deserves help, as it is an icon of giving and success.
Rakan Al-Rasheed says: I started volunteering since I was 16 years old, after I saw volunteers the same age as me on YouTube, so I thought about it well, and I found myself motivated to go through this experience. My beginnings came with Ramadan, by providing breakfast meals for fasting people, so I did not feel the time, especially with the emptiness that we feel daily, and my feeling grew that I am offering something important to my community during volunteer hours, adding: Volunteer work expanded the circle of my friendships and acquaintances, and I do not seek any material compensation from This charity.
And Rakan added: The fields of volunteering that I have undergone vary, as some of them were environmental work and activities, others are educational and many of them are humanitarian. They have been visiting Makkah for long periods of time, and when we fulfill this wish for them, the world does not contain joy when I hear them praying for us for good, which pleases my heart and makes me feel the value of what I offer.
His friend Bassam Bagbeer, who studies in dentistry, shares the field of volunteering, indicating that he is happy with his volunteer work, which he has not abandoned since joining it. He visits patients and entertains them, and presents them with gifts on holidays and occasions. Bassam continues his talk to Okaz, saying: Volunteer work makes me feel that the giving I give to all age groups, and I do not wait for material reward, is the most beautiful thing I have done in my life. .
