The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fiqh Association, Dr. Saad bin Turki Al-Khathlan, confirmed that domestic workers, drivers and other Muslim workers are required to pay Zakat Al-Fitr themselves, so the sponsor is not obligated to pay it on their behalf unless the sponsor donates to pay it on their behalf with their permission, then there is nothing wrong with it and he will be rewarded for that, God willing. Explaining that this is specific to Muslim workers. As for non-Muslim servants, drivers and others, zakat al-fitr is not paid on their behalf, due to Ibn Umar’s saying: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, imposed zakat al-fitr on the slave and free, male and female, young and old.
Al-Khathlan went to the view that paying zakat al-fitr on behalf of the fetus is desirable and not obligatory. When it was narrated on the authority of Othman, may God be pleased with him, that he was pushing her away from the fetus. This applies if the fetus is four months old or more, but if it is less than four months old, do not pay for it. Because the soul was not blown into it, so it did not become a human being, and the human being is made up of a soul and a body, and the fetus before the four months is either a sperm or a lump or a leech in which the soul was not blown, indicating that those who are entitled to zakat al-Fitr are the poor and the needy, and Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with them, gave it to those who accepted it from among those He did not appear rich.
