The head of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, called for an internal dialogue to resolve the crisis, and stressed that the Sudanese people are the biggest losers in the war. And the army commander announced, in an interview with Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels, today (Saturday), that all airports are under the control of the army, except for the airports of Khartoum and Nyala, revealing that he is currently in the command center, stressing, “I will only leave him on a coffin.” He acknowledged that living conditions are deteriorating, and we share the concern of the international community regarding foreign nationals.

He denied the allegations of the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, about his relationship with the former regime, describing them as "false" statements. Al-Burhan said, "No one knows where Hemedti is, not even his forces." He accused the Rapid Support Forces of attacking diplomatic missions without regard to international law, and said: “The Rapid Support Forces are deployed in residential neighborhoods, taking civilians as human shields, accusing them of evacuating hospitals and turning them into military bases,” and attacking shops, banks, and government institutions.

And he considered that it was the Rapid Support Forces that initiated the attack, and “we took a defensive position,” stressing that the army is purely Sudanese national forces and is not subordinate to anyone.

Regarding his expectation of the timing of the end of the conflict, he stressed that no one can predict when and how the war will end, adding that the war within cities prolongs the confrontation, and that the militants must be removed from residential areas to end the war. He accused a group of Rapid Support Forces of storming Al-Huda prison and killing its guards.

He denied that the Sudanese army targeted any official figures, as the Rapid Support Groups do, warning that Hemedti's allegations are intended to sedition and a quarrel with the neighbours.

On the rapid support groups receiving foreign aid, Al-Burhan said, "There is no confirmation yet of the Wagner Group's support for him." He revealed that the commander of the Libyan army, Khalifa Haftar, contacted him, and confirmed that his support for the other party (the Rapid Support Forces) is untrue. He stressed his adherence to integrating the Rapid Support Forces into the army, given that the merger issue sparked the conflict. He hinted that part of the current conflict was due to political reasons, and said, "We seek to implement a political transition to a civilian government." He addressed the Sudanese people by saying: "The war has been imposed on your armed forces, and we ask you to be patient."
