Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu announced that his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, will visit Ankara this week. Davutoglu said in remarks reported by the Anatolia Agency today (Monday): that Ankara and Cairo are approaching the stage of appointing ambassadors.
Last month, Davutoğlu made a visit to Cairo, the first of its kind for a Turkish foreign minister to Egypt in 11 years. The foreign ministers of Egypt and Turkey said during the visit that there is "political will and directives" to launch a path to reach full normalization of relations between the two countries.
