Hours after the arrest of the leader of the Tunisian “Brotherhood” Rashid Ghannouchi, the Tunisian police arrested, yesterday (Tuesday), 3 prominent leaders in the Ennahda movement, they are: the leader of the movement, Muhammad al-Qumani, the deputy head of the political bureau, Belkacem Hassan, and the official in charge of student work, Muhammad Shaniba. This coincided with the start of searches inside the Brotherhood movement's headquarters, which was closed by a court order.

The three leaders appeared alongside Ghannouchi at the symposium held by the opposition Salvation Front, during which he vowed civil war if the Ennahda movement and the political Islam movement were excluded, and he claimed that supporters of President Kais Saied are terrorists and extremists, in escalatory statements described as dangerous. Ghannouchi faces a number of charges, most notably financial corruption, terrorism, assassinations, sending terrorists to hotbeds of tension, and spying on the security of the Tunisian state.

The Tunisian judiciary had recently arrested a number of the movement's leaders on charges related to conspiracy against state security, attempting to carry out a coup against the government, and financial corruption. Political observers confirmed that with the fall of the head of the snake, the fortresses of the Brotherhood organization began to crumble.

On Monday evening, the Tunisian security forces arrested Ghannouchi after raiding and searching his house, on the grounds of incitement and calling for chaos and sedition. Tunisians chanted slogans in front of Ennahda headquarters in the center of the capital after Ghannouchi's arrest, "Oh Ghannouchi, oh butcher, oh killer of souls."
