Hours after Russia announced that its fighters had intercepted a German army plane that was approaching its border over the Baltic Sea, and in the midst of the ongoing tension between Russia and the West over the Russian-Ukrainian conflict after Finland to NATO, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned today (Thursday) of the dangers of a military clash with NATO. He pointed out that the increase in the line of contact between Russia and the Atlantic by 1,200 km as a result of Finland's accession to the defense alliance doubled the risks of collision.
And the Russian Ministry of Defense said via “Telegram”: “The Russian air surveillance devices detected an air target approaching the Russian border over the Baltic Sea, adding: Immediately a SU-27 fighter took off, and it became clear to her that the target was a basic patrol plane of the German Navy.” A P-3C Orion.
The ministry indicated that as soon as the Russian fighter arrived, the foreign military aircraft moved away from Russia's borders and the Russian fighter returned safely to its base, indicating that the German military aircraft did not penetrate the Russian borders.
