The Fatwa Committee of the Islamic Research Academy in Al-Azhar Al-Sharif stated that there is nothing wrong with bringing a child who does not mess around or harm the worshipers to the mosque, and accordingly he bears the hadith of Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein. Confirming that it is better for him to be with his father or one of his senior relatives, and to teach the etiquette of the mosque, and warn against harming people and stepping over them, and so on, before he is brought to the mosque.

In response to a question about taking children to mosques, the committee said: Islam took care of children, and commanded parents and guardians to command their children to pray when they were seven years old. There is no doubt that the right place to teach them prayer and other provisions of Sharia is the mosque. Because just as it is recommended to train children to pray and obey at home, it is also recommended to train them in collective actions to strengthen the spirit of assembly in their souls, and that includes their witnessing of congregational and congregational prayers in mosques. And the jurists talked about the arrangement of the ranks of the congregation, and they said: The men will be in the first rows, then the boys will follow them, then the women will follow them. Children used to attend the mosque at the time of the Messenger, peace be upon him, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, would shorten and shorten the prayer when he heard a child crying in the mosque. Rather, he – peace and blessings be upon him – interrupted his sermon and carried Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein, when they entered the mosque and saw them stumbling in their clothes, so he carried them.

His Eminence Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Baz – may God have mercy on him – believes that it is better not to accompany children under the age of seven to mosques. because they may disturb the congregation, disturb them, and play, so it is better not to take them to the mosque; Because it is not prescribed for them to pray.

He explained that the hadith “Keep your children away from mosques” is a weak hadith, which is not authentically reported by the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him. Let them get used to praying, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: Order your children to pray when they are seven, and beat them for not praying when they are ten, and separate them in their beds. This encourages the believers to bring their children with them, so that they get used to praying. on her.
