The administrative organization of the governorates (Jeddah, Taif, Al-Ahsa) revealed the governorates of (Qatif, Khamis Mushait, Al-Khobar, Jubail, Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Kharj, Yanbu), which was approved by the Council of Ministers, in its last session, linking the governor according to this organization to the Emir of the region.
According to the organization, 7 governorates (Qatif, Khamis Mushait, Khobar, Jubail, Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Kharj, and Yanbu) will be subject to an approved organizational map, so that the governor reports to the local council secretariat, the governor’s office, the protocol department, public relations department, the follow-up department, the administrative planning and development department, and the committee affairs department. centers and the General Administration of Security Affairs.
According to the regulation, the governor’s tasks include 14 tasks, foremost of which is the exercise of all the powers and competencies entrusted to him as a governor, direct supervision of the governorate’s work and the performance of its employees, as well as supervision of the centers associated with the governorate, ensuring the proper functioning of work in them, proposing a draft budget for the governorate and its affiliated centers, and submitting it to the region’s emirate. .
The approved organizational map defines the general objective of the governor, which is to maintain security in the governorate, identify its needs and work to achieve them, and raise the level of work performance in a way that contributes to the development and development of the governorate.
The Deputy Governor's office reports to the General Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs, the General Department of Development Affairs and the General Department of Information Technology, and finally the General Department of Rights. A number of other departments follow these departments. Such as personnel and financial affairs, administrative communications, public services, local affairs, project follow-up, computer management, prisoners’ affairs, drug affairs, special rights, public rights, and coordination of services.
It is noteworthy that the Council of Ministers’ decision stipulates the application of the administrative organization of the governorates (Jeddah, Taif, and Al-Ahsa) – issued by item (First) of Cabinet Resolution No. (187) on 5/9/1435 AH – to the governorates of (Qatif and Khamis Mushayt). Al-Khobar, Jubail, Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Kharj, and Yanbu).
