Between the Sudanese army announcing the approaching “hour of victory” and the RSF’s demand for “Al-Burhan to surrender himself”, he does not know where the current war in Sudan could push him, but these speeches reveal that the Sudanese scene is heading towards a dead end in light of the recent developments.
The Sudanese army, headed by Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, promised a “near victory,” while the Rapid Support Forces, headed by Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hamidti), called on the army to surrender, claiming that it had taken control of main headquarters in separate areas.
And through its official page on the social networking site "Facebook", the Sudanese army said today (Sunday): "The hour of victory is near," adding, "We have mercy on the innocent lives that were taken by this reckless adventure committed by the rebel Rapid Support militia, and our prayers are for the injured."
He added, "We give good news to our patient and proud people soon, God willing." While the Armed Forces spokesman did not indicate what that news was, he published a second clip, documenting what he said was "the complete destruction of the headquarters of the main enemy forces," referring to the Rapid Support Forces.
While the clip did not reveal the location of the headquarters that was destroyed, the official spokesman said that there are extensive combing operations "and cleaning the capital from the remnants of the rebellion and defeating them completely."
The General Command of the Armed Forces published a clip of Lieutenant General Al-Burhan, in which he inspects the army personnel with “complete comfort” and high morale, according to the army statement.
In the clip, a voice, whose identity has not yet been known, was heard telling Al-Burhan that the army personnel managed to arrest some members of the Rapid Support Forces after they tried to enter the mosques to take cover.
Al-Burhan said that what happened should prevent the formation of any forces outside the womb of the armed forces, pointing out that the Rapid Support Forces attacked the army headquarters in the guest house (the residence of the head of the Sovereignty Council).
He accused the Rapid Support Forces of harassing the army in the Sports City area (south of the capital, Khartoum), stressing that they "infiltrated Khartoum Airport through the Hajj and Umrah terminal, and burned some planes, but the armed forces dealt with them."
On the other hand, Hamidti confirmed that his forces control the guesthouse, the presidential palace, the army general command and all airports, claiming that his forces neutralized the planes on which Al-Burhan relied. The head of the Sovereignty Council vowed, saying: Al-Burhan is besieged, and he only has to surrender.
Hamidti confirmed in televised statements: “We do not have any contacts with Al-Burhan yet, and we are awaiting his surrender, adding that there are dead soldiers from the army and now we are in control.
