• What does Ramadan mean to you? And what do you remember about him?

•• Ramadan is a blessed month. Fasting is a school for learning control and linking; Because everything in it teaches order, commitment, eating food and drink at a specific time, and its time is also clear, and it is evident in fasting the Islamic unity, and in its month Muslims perform the obligatory prayer in one time. It rejuvenates the cells of the body by expelling what has aged from them, and rests the digestive system by getting rid of everything to which fasting is attached. And if the soul is hungry, all its organs will be satisfied, and if it is full, it will be hungry. The most important of these benefits accrues to the fasting person in all cases. Fasting is one of the pillars of Islam, which the Muslim performs in obedience to God Almighty.

Ramadan has beautiful memories when we were young in the alleys and neighborhoods, and the children and children of the neighbors celebrate Ramadan, with songs and joy they brought what they brought, and they spin in the alleys when announcing the entry of the month, with beautiful chants and joy from everyone on the advent of the holy month, and the first thing that the children do when announcing is to congratulate the father And the mother, sisters and brothers, and peace be upon their heads and hands. And the fact that Ramadan has beautiful memories in the neighborhood, children gather in the nights of Ramadan, and they play popular games, including wazra, macara, ari, safflower, and bird, beautiful and sweet games that they occupy their time with, and in that period there is no television, but rather the radio that everyone gathers around to listen to the series that used to come to us from Egypt, and they listen to it eagerly.

No air conditioners or fans

• What is left of the memories of the first Ramadan, his silence?

A: Of course, fathers and mothers at home used to accustom their children to fasting at an early age, and we used to consider the order of our parents to start fasting when we were six or seven years old, and we were students in the first year of primary school. During this period, we had no electricity, no air conditioners, no fans, and the houses were popularly sprinkled with water. We endured our young age and went to school while we were fasting, but we used to obey what our rulers ordered us to do, and there was something called fasting from behind the tank because of the intense heat and sweltering, and the child drinks and comes to the house He says I am fasting and he is fasting from behind the tank, as they say, until we got used to it and began to fast our entire fast when we started to grow little by little.
