He possessed the eloquence and charm of the language, the loudness and sweetness of the throat, the ways of hearing and the hearts of the viewers. What today's generation does not know is that the broadcaster, Ghalib, was born in 1941 to become one of the pillars of the media renaissance, and a partner in the huge archive of Saudi television, and he formed, along with the giants of the golden generation in Saudi media, the highest ceiling that the succeeding generations were unable to reach or contact with. Ghaleb Kamel, a descendant of the “generation of good people,” penned the melodious melody of memories on the shrines of media professionalism through the news platform, with a dazzling presence in the memory of the Saudis. He soared with his voice in the sky of “the two ethers” until he became a star that does not cross a road without the necks of passers-by turning to it. During half a century but a decade, he formed an important part of the visual and audio taste, as he made a lofty media scene, and through him he gained a place in homes through his melodious voice, with which his former comrades lamented the world of immortality.
The deceased was dubbed “the companion of the kings” for his coverage of royal events and official visits to leaders, and some described him as “a friend of the departed” because of his fellowship and friendship with departed media figures. Among them: Mutlaq Al-Dhiabi, Yahya Katwa, Suleiman Al-Issa, Abdul-Rahman Yaghmour, Majid Al-Shibl, Abbas Ghazzawi, and Muhammad Al-Shaalan.
Ghaleb Kamel is considered one of the most important people who worked on Saudi radio and television, and was known for his eloquence, distinguished delivery, and ability to conduct dialogues. He presented competition programs whose voice still resonates in the memory of generations attached to him from the Channel One screen, and he moved to God’s mercy, crowned with love and prayers on August 27, 2022.
