Abu Lahab (Abdul-Ezzi bin Abdul-Muttalib) celebrated the birth of his nephew, Muhammad bin Abdullah, the Holy Prophet, upon him complete the prayer and complete the delivery. At Utbah, and Mrs. Umm Kulthum is at Otaiba, so when the revelation came to him, Abu Lahab and his wife said: Occupy Muhammad himself, and ordered their two sons to divorce. And soon they set up animosity towards the relative, rather they were among the fiercest people in enmity, and Abu Lahab and his wife (Umm Jamil), who was Arwa bint Harb bin Umayyah, the sister of Abu Sufyan, lived in a house adjacent to the Prophet, but they did not truly care for kinship and neighborhood, and they were not satisfied with their abandonment. On his victory, but his hostility and warfare, and strived to repel people from him, and from the hatred and ferocity of his wife, she carried branches of thorns at night, and placed them in the path of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who walks from him to his house to stumble or injure, and she used to repeat in the roads “reprehensible, we disobeyed, and his command is our father.” And his religion was few.”

So Surat Al-Masd was revealed in them, before he perished in the second year of the Prophet’s migration with the plague, and it was said that his body rotted, his smell stinked, and all his relatives abandoned him, so that a group of people would carry him on wood for fear of infection, and throw him in a hole that preserved the memory of the place, in the revenue of Abu Lahab, and they piled stones on him. .

Despite the passage of 14 centuries since the departure of (the symbol of abuse and severing ties of kinship), the debate is still raging about the continued naming of the “Abu Lahab” neighborhood in Makkah Al-Mukarramah by the same name, or should it be changed..!

While many residents of the neighborhood believe that the tomb of Abu Lahab is located near Jabal Abu Lahab, the exact location is no longer known. – On a place said to be the tomb of Abu Lahab.

While the Secretariat of the Holy Capital replaced the signs that bore the name of Abu Lahab in the neighborhood and replaced them with new ones, on which Hassan Bin Thabet Street was written, the new signs did not cancel what the popular memory preserved, from the colloquial name “Abu Lahab neighborhood”, and it is one of the most famous neighborhoods. in Mecca. Today it is known as the "Abi Lahab Mosque".

The former mayor of Al-Tayseer district, Talal bin Hassan Al-Hassani, conducted an in-depth research on the Jarwal area in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, which includes the neighborhood, street, and Jabal Abi Lahab. In it, it was mentioned that Jabal Abi Lahab is located between the revenues of Abu Lahab “al-Mudarram” and the revenues of Al-Kohl, which overlooks Al-Zaher neighborhood from the west, and Dhi Tawa from the east. Until recently, the citizens of Makkah Al-Mukarramah used to break stones from this mountain to build their homes.

Yaqut al-Hamawi mentioned in describing the mountain that it is “the yearning of Abu Lahab,” and there is no other mountain in Makkah that strikes whiteness but high, and its stones were described as hard and tough and called “the blue stone,” and the people from a long time ago took stones from it to build their homes until its top almost disappeared.
