The Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council agreed to a truce proposed by the United Nations, but it stipulated ensuring the control of the Rapid Support Forces, stressing that it did not abide by the humanitarian truce, and attacked the headquarters of the Sudanese army. A member of the Sovereignty Council, Shams al-Din Kabbashi, said in an interview with Al-Arabiya from inside the General Command headquarters in Khartoum, that the Sovereignty Council agreed to a truce for a period of 24 hours, starting from six in the evening, today (Tuesday). He added, "We will abide by the armistice, and we will monitor the extent of the rapid support's commitment to it." He expressed the Sovereignty Council's regret over the escalation and the failure of the calm in the country, pointing out that the armed forces were forced to enter the battle.

Kabbashi reaffirmed the inadmissibility of any mediation that would impede the response to the rebels, referring to the Rapid Support Forces. He accused the Rapid Support Forces of sabotaging Khartoum Airport and disrupting navigation. He emphasized that the Rapid Support Forces are engaged in looting and looting, and are taking civilians as human shields.

He stated that the army uses military force to the extent required to preserve the lives of civilians, stressing that the armed forces are fighting a complex urban war and we deal with it according to the law.

A member of the Sovereignty Council revealed that the army forces took control of the Rapid Support headquarters in all states except for two, indicating that the armed forces will restore matters as soon as possible. He stated that the head of the Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, is in good health and is present and directing the battle. Kabbashi described what the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, is doing and his talk of pursuing the army commander, Al-Burhan, to bring him to justice as "a clear rebellion."

He stressed that there is no truth to any defections within the armed forces, stressing that the defections within the Rapid Support Forces are 100% correct.

For his part, the political advisor for the Rapid Support announced to Al-Arabiya that they would act responsibly towards the armistice, and said: We are moving with defensive plans, not offensive ones. He stated that the "support" is looking for a formula to hand over the Egyptian soldiers to Cairo, and we expect to start talks to hand over the prisoners after the armistice.
