Former US President Donald Trump, today (Friday), attacked President Joe Biden's administration, two days after the start of his trial, (Tuesday). Trump wrote on his social network, "Truth Social": "We are a nation in decline … a failed nation." "The United States is losing the goodness that so many have known, so quickly, that at the end of the remaining year and a half under the most incompetent administration in history, we may not have a country left," he said. The former president added, “There is an invasion on our borders, we are about to lose our dollar as a global currency standard, and we could end up in World War III because of stupid decisions.” He considered that the only things they do well are election fraud, smear campaigns, and abuse of the justice system. He concluded his tweet by saying, "We are a nation in decline… a failed nation."
And the American Fox News channel revealed that the New York City judge supervising the case of the former president had received death threats, and a security team had been appointed to accompany him. The threats against Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchant began about a week ago, but escalated in the wake of Trump's historic indictment of 34 criminal counts of falsifying business records.
Merchan also presided over the trial of the Trump Organization, which resulted in the company being found guilty of 17 counts of tax fraud and a $1.6 million fine. Trump called Merchan and his family "Trump haters" on social media, and accused the judge of pressuring the organization's chief financial officer, Alan Weisselberg, to plead guilty to tax evasion on $1.7 million in company franchises. Weisselberg testified against the Trump Organization during the trial as part of a plea deal in exchange for a five-month prison sentence.
