Medium to heavy rains fell in separate parts of Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The Municipality of the Holy Capital provided a set of instructions to deal with the rainy situation, coinciding with the forecasts of the National Center of Meteorology for rains in a number of regions.
The Municipality noted the need to continuously monitor the weather and the warnings of official authorities about the rainy situation, adhere to the instructions, stay in homes when heavy rains fall, and stay away from water gathering sites and electricity sources in public places.
Since the first hours of the rains in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the teams of the Holy Capital Municipality have started their work in all the streets and public squares that witnessed gatherings of rain water, and the teams equipped with equipment and mechanisms were able to remove all the gatherings in the neighborhoods and streets and work to open the flow of movement and avoid the causes of rain.
The Municipality had allocated more than 2,500 equipment of different sizes and uses, and it is managed by a large number of field teams consisting of human cadres and trained workers and distributing them to various sites, especially those that are expected to witness a higher intensity of precipitation to carry out removal, cleaning and water suction works on a regular basis. Municipality teams are still deployed in all streets and public squares during these days and the coming days, and around the clock in anticipation of the expected rain.
